... still true to me?
By W. H. Nulf
We were young and in love--
we took our vows seriously.
I gave him all I had to give--
is my lover still true to me?
He met her where he was working,
They taught him to push the keys.
He liked to learn about her--
is my lover still true to me?
Yes my rival arrived in boxes--
Will you sign for these please?
He installed her in a room of her own
he even bought her a private phone.
Is my lover still true to me?
Now he comes home from his Job--
We dine pleasantly.
Then he goes upstairs to be with her--
and I'm left to watch T.V.
A few hours later we meet in bed--
Is my lover still true to me?
Its not just work they're doing--
they play incessantly.
She tells him he's a jet pilot--
or a captain sailing the sea.
The sad part is he believes her--
Is my lover still true to me?
Ofcourse I've tried to tell him--
he listens then comforts me--
but later I always find him with her.
Is my lover still true to me?
I feel the machine has seduced him--
I'm filled with jealousy.
He still calls me his lady--
with beautiful honesty.
So many times I'm left all alone--
Is my lover still true to me?
