William Nulf's Webpage
This is a personal web page -- I plan to fill it full of my thoughts, writings, and ideas. If people really want know me then this will be the place to go.
It is very often common to put a picture of oneself in first part of webpage, and not being one to break with fine old traditions -- here is a picture of me. Not the most current photo, I have lost some weight. It is still the best formal picture I have of myself. I used to be into photography, I've spent more time behind the camera (and in the dark room), than in front of it.
Better to let me show you a little something of myself. I love the game of chess. So here is a fun position I got into against my old Color Computer II (in preparation for a tournament) when this position developed. It is a white to move and win.
I love the game of chess, but I am not very good at it. I have a USCF rating in the 1300's. Not very high by any standards, but sometimes I do come up with a good move ... like BXf7ch.
Computers and Chess
I aspire to be a computer programmer. I learned Extended Color BASIC for the TRS-80 Color Computer II back in the 80's. Then I went on to learn Turbo Pascal (version 5.5) and MS-DOS. After moving to the Los Angeles area I enrolled in Computer Learning Center and took programming Courses. I learned COBOL and C. I also learned a little LAN, and Unix.
I enjoy writing -- here are some of my poems:
